Pink baby booties and hat (again)

I recently finished the hat and pair of booties below for my niece, who was just born this week. I tried out a beautiful sock yarn this time instead of the solid pink I used before. (That was Debbie Bliss baby cashmerino. You can see those here, here, and here.) This is a “Caper Sock” yarn from String Theory. I can’t remember the exact name of the colour… I think it may have been the ‘necter’. But here’s the label, which I thought was nice enough to photograph as well–and it links to their list of sock yarns, if you’re curious.

This is one of the two balls I wound from the skein. This is actually the one I haven’t used yet. I’m still thinking about what else to make with it…

Finally, here’s how the hat and booties turned out. I used the same patterns I’ve posted a few times before, ones from Easy Baby Knits. I knit a gauge swatch and adjusted the patterns accordingly for the sock yarn. I think it was worth it.
